Offensive coordinator Dana Bible was a Wolfpack assistant during the 1980s; tight ends coach Jim Bridge worked at The Citadel; O'Brien and defensive coordinator Mike Archer were staff mates at
Virginia; offensive-line coach Don Horton was Norfolk Catholic's head coach during the late 1980s, and secondary coach Mike Reed has a stop at the University of Richmond on his r�sum�.
"All nine of my assistants recruit (some area of) North Carolina," O'Brien said, "and the reception has been great. We'll work the state first and then move north (to Virginia) and south to (South Carolina)."
To wit: Brandon Barnes, a running back from Bunn, N.C., received more than 40 Division I-A offers according to the Winston-Salem Journal and chose N.C. State from among finalists that included Florida, Michigan, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Clemson.
Terrell Manning, a linebacker from Laurinburg, N.C., courted by the likes of Florida, Virginia Tech and Tennessee, tells Rivals.com he's likely to sign with the Wolfpack.
Out of state, O'Brien landed a pledge from a familiar name. Mike Glennon, a 6-foot-6 quarterback from Westfield High in northern Virginia and the brother of Virginia Tech quarterback Sean Glennon, selected the Wolfpack over Michigan and Virginia.
